About Anishta BABOORAM
She is an experienced legal professional and educator with a strong background in law, media, and public service. Over the years, she has had the opportunity to work with various institutions, including government bodies, NGOs, and academic institutions, helping to shape policy, educate future leaders, and contribute to human rights and social welfare initiatives.
With an LLM in International Commercial Law from London Metropolitan University and an LLB (Hons) from the University of Mauritius, she has developed a deep understanding of both local and international legal frameworks. Her career spans from lecturing at SEGI University and OCEP College, to contributing as a "Chargée de cours" at Université Paris II – Panthéon Assas. She has also held key roles in public service, including serving as a member of the National Preventive Mechanism Division at the National Human Rights Commission, and working with the Mauritius High Commission in London.
Throughout her career, She has been recognized for her leadership and contributions, being awarded Women of the Year in 2018 and 2019, as well as one of the 100 Most Influential Women of Mauritius in 2017. She is committed to using her skills, knowledge, and experience to drive positive change, whether through legal education, public service, or community initiatives. Her passion for justice, human rights, and empowering others continues to fuel her work and contributions.

Does the Future generation of the country have a future in the country?
Everywhere we go, the people are waiting for things to change for the better. Over the past 10 years, they have been waiting for promises to be fulfilled. Development has changed the landscape for tourists,
but locals are still drowned in misery and despair.
The more people we meet, the more faith we have in our mission to bring about change and restore dignity in the lives of people this current government seems to have forgotten.
